It's weird for Sammy to see. The ground in the distance is completely flat, except for that ring of mountains. When something fell and hit the earth, it must have been like when a water droplet hits a puddle and it forms a ripple, except with rock.
Sammy is well rested and ready for this drive across the Nullarbor Plain. No trees, completely straight road, and the danger of camels, kangaroos, and wombats! What a strange place Australia is.
